The University of Melbourne’s School of Land and Environment (MSLE) provides an active environment for interdisciplinary and collaborative research by the extended academic community, including individuals, organizations, external benefactors and governments in Australia and around the world.

The School, and its forerunners, has a long history of research in applied and social sciences including agriculture, forestry, horticulture and geography.

We have a dynamic and international research staff working to enhance the capability of human communities and natural ecosystems to adapt to environmental change and mitigate the effects of environmental and resource pressures imposed by a growing global population.
